UROZI MUROZI
Urozi-Murozi
The name “Urozi-Murodzi” is from the tanka of Ikkyu, written after his first satori. It means “world of passions — world of impassivity”. Also, the character RO is a Japanese translation for Sanskrit ‘asvara', “influences of the outer world infiltrating trough senses”.
The composition was recorded in the summer of 2000.
Sakuhachi, sakuhachi and xun, sakuhachi and xiao duets.
KUSABIBUKI
Kusabi-buki
The Experimental Music Group considers this recording as the Group’s beginning. The use of a little oboe, which was a solo instrument of the castle music Gagaku, provides a distinctive character to this CD.
Creed Of Japon Danzan
Creed of Japon-Danzan
This CD has extensive multilevel connections to Mongolian culture. Many Mongolian (morin-xuur) and Tibetan (dung-chen, rkang-gling) instruments have been used in the recording.
DANCE DRAMA
Dance-Drama
The music of this CD was influenced by two very different theatrical traditions: by the musical madness of the Indonesian Classical Drama Vayang-Orang, and by the overwhelming grotesque of Kabuki Theater. There is exaggeration, parody, and sincere drama in the music of this recordings since the musicians experienced and interpreted the music in very different ways.
